Frutiger Home releases on 28 September 2026 for Windows PC on Steam. It is developed and published by frutigerdev. The demo is the real shopping decision
The demo is not a cut-down trailer level. It gives you the Frutiger Eco house layout, the decorating catalogue and the styling tools. Two things make it worth playing before launch:
- Your house carries over. The developer's announcement on 5 June 2026 states the demo saves automatically as you decorate and that progress carries into the full game. So decorating now is not throwaway work.
- It is where every complaint about the game comes from. The Steam forum threads from the demo period — window and door placement, an Intel Arc startup crash, the aquarium light placement — are all demo experiences. Reading them first is cheaper than discovering them after paying.
What the demo period tells you about the launch build
The developer's Steam news posts, in order:
- 13 March 2026 — a public playtest opened, scheduled to run around two weeks, aimed at collecting decorating and performance feedback.
- 30 March 2026 — playtest closed; the post says the developer was going through in-depth feedback and working towards polish.
- 19 May 2026 — demo announced for early June, with a new trailer.
- 22 May 2026 — trailer released, demo date confirmed as 5 June.
- 4–5 June 2026 — demo released, covering the Eco house, with auto-save and save carry-over.
- 15 June 2026 — demo update v0.1.0: media such as images and music can now be shared between friends, with a moderation prompt before sharing.
That last one matters if you plan to build with other people: sharing media existed before launch, as a demo feature.
Still unannounced
These were asked in the Steam forums during the demo period and had no answer at the time of writing:
| Question | Asked | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Console versions (Xbox / PlayStation / Switch) | 16 Sep 2026 | Nothing announced; Steam lists Windows only |
| Maximum players in online co-op | 25 Jun 2026 | Steam lists Online Co-op; no count published |
| Always-on / dedicated private server | 12 Aug 2026 | Requested, not confirmed |
| Day/night cycle and weather toggles | 18 Sep 2026 | Requested, not confirmed |
| House-wide music player | 6 Sep 2026 | Requested; media sharing exists, scope unconfirmed |
System requirements
The minimum listed for the game matches the demo:
| Minimum | |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 (64-bit) |
| Processor | Intel i5-7600K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GTX 1060 / Radeon RX 480 |
| DirectX | Version 11 |
| Storage | 15 GB available space |
That is a mid-range 2016-era target — the requirement is a GTX 1060, not a modern GPU. If you are on Intel Arc, read the crash page before buying: the one startup-crash report in the forums is from an Arc card and was never resolved in public.
